As an entrepreneur you have got to live an extra-ordinary life style that differentiates you dearly from others such as students, employees, politicians, entertainers, soccer’s and others.
As I always say, that entrepreneurship is not an optional idea, it is a complete lifestyle of its own; you either choose to live it or decide to leave it. A pro-active entrepreneur is exceptional when he meets desires and unrecognized needs. They go out of their places, to inspire and motivate others to succeed.
They are not always comfortable with economically doomed society, so they work very hard toward productivity growth and development. Entrepreneur who are pro-active are otherwise known as extra-ordinary millionaires because of the millionaire lifestyles they adopt.
They don’t go with the crowd or the most acceptable opportunities instead they create opportunities for themselves and others. So does it apply to that your sales points, try to find out something that will distinctly differentiate you from the crowd.
Trust me, you will be the centre of attention, when you have the courage to move on your own line and make it near to perfection.
Develop exceptional social skills
Be approachable, be accessible, be willing, be eager, communicate well and effectively network. You can also stand before people to market your product and get it sold. Shyness will be overcome, no more laziness or fear of rejection.
There are also many other social skills you can develop such as: public speaking, one-on-one advice skill, and social presentations like dance, shows, entertainment and other wise. It is true that these things do not connect with your business but they will help you free up from entrepreneurial anxiety called “anxiety of the salesman”.
By making good use of your schedule, you can actually make time for exercises for at least once in a week. Routines like, football, running, jumping etc. can be good.
This might involve enough number of people to ensure more interesting dialogues, impressions and complements.
The above mentioned exercises involve movement of all parts of your body making you physically flexible enough. When you play and talk, you will soon cultivate assertiveness or outspokenness.
Set an audacious goal or target.
To achieve greatly, as a proactive businessman, you need to be target driven. This will help you more especially to know where to start from and actually take action in proper time.
If you don’t have target, you will be beating around the bush and will easily be misled by little temptation. Do you really know where you are going? Don’t let uncertainties shift your focus from your target.
There are many targets types, but let’s take for instance, achievement target. Your role as an entrepreneur is to impact people’s life. Ask yourself, how should I impact people’s life; positively or negatively? What is that one thing I need to change in order to be more productive?
When shall I complete that project I began for long time ago? Remove or stop anything that can ever try to remove or stop your focus on your target. It is target that drives focus and focus only can bring you success.
If you have targets which you are completely devoted to, you will actually become unconscious, pushing to start doing something and soon get it done.
Always give yourself tasks on which you should focus at a time, it doesn’t have to be too big like that, but you just have to stop staying idle, and make sure that the goal you set is pointing to you target dream.
Finishing one bit of task at each time can bring a whole lot of tremendous success after a bit of time.
The secret of success is in starting what you said you will do now. Doing it now, continuously until you finish it; success is a miracle, only if you know the formula.
Take for instance now, if you are in Abuja, you can’t expect to enter any bus that can either drop you either at Lagos or at Kano state.
You either choose to go Abuja or to go to Kano, you must go one at a time, then, go the other. And whenever you are traveling to a far distant place, you have a target of where you are going if you do not, you may just go out to wander. If you have targets, positive values will be your habits.
For instance, you target each day is to earn thousands or millions of dollars, all you should be doing are something that will make that dollars come – keep your shop clean, serve people, solve problems, arrange thing get ready and speak to get it.
All these are positive values that come from targeted mind.
Setting of targets helps you as an entrepreneur to have short term goals, middle-term goals and long –term goals, based in the target structure.
Proactive leaders or entrepreneurs stretch themselves even when the process does not seem easy, so do your best to get secured.
Buy a (pushing) mentor:
This is where you as the “BOSS” of your business enterprise have to pay the deal.
Meeting someone, at the first place needs pro-activeness to take place, so, you have to start playing your pro-activeness role here. You have to meet someone now and ask him to be your mentor. Not minding if the person will accept or not.
Remember that, as you present yourself—your pro-activeness, you are selling yourself at a price.
Do your best and find out who you are, how people see you and how most successful people weigh you in that your field, it doesn’t matter though how everybody see you, but how the important successful people do is something examinable.
So having a mentor is an important decision you must make.
That person must be someone who has been in that your field and must be successful or skilled in that particular area you are hiring him for. He can teach you from his past experiences and help you out in making difficult decisions.
Many people don’t have interest in mentoring, because of the time money, energy, emotions and other things they will invest therein, while some require being paid, not because of the money but so that you should get devoted to the improvement for which you have paid.
Some people when they are mentored for free don’t take their mentor seriously.
So to be a smart and wise seller, you don’t only need a mentor; you need a very devoted one. You need to pay someone. That payment will bring close the attention of both the mentor and the mentee.
Attention is that most essential thing there. Accountability and responsibility will exist between you and the mentor who you would be held responsible and accountable by, in all decision and actions you take in your business.
Your paid mentor drives you harder, just to see you moving higher. Mentorship is a frame-work and relationship itself.
As far as learning is concerned, mentorship goes on and on because it is continuous. Even you (the mentee) can one day be a mentor to someone. And still your own mentor.
